Mendelssohn – Songs Without Words

Written by

Felix Mendelssohn – Songs Without Words (Lieder ohne Worte)

Songs Without Words Op.30 no.3 in E Major

Mendelssohn composed eight sets of Songs without Words during different times of his life, totaling 48 different songs.  They are in different levels of difficulty, but mainly in an intermediate level. For that reason, and also because the pieces are short, they became very accessible for the middle-class society during Mendelssohn’s life-time. They are lyrical, expressive and romantic pieces.
